Web Global Media a division of 1699407 ONTARIO INC.
Guidelines:
- Remember, less is more, think quality instead of quantity. Example: Create 5 pages to include excellent navigation,
content and graphics vs. 30 pages with just average items.
- Make sure that your website enhances your company’s image and creates a positive
perception. A website that is designed well will reflect a postive image to your main business.
- Good navigation is key in designing a user-friendly website.
- Put your website address on all of your advertising and promotional items.
- When you launch your website don’t expect to be in all of the Search Engines or in
the top positions. Search Engine positioning is a daily monitoring, coding and submission task. Ask Web Global Media about their
Marketing and Promotion services to increase the traffic to your website.
- Don’t spam, provide areas for the user to opt-in requesting information and be able to unsubscribe. Spamming is when you send out unauthorized
bulk email. Spamming is illegal on the web and the consequences could be that you are fined or get kicked off of your server.
Standards:
When we are creating your website, our designers follow these standard and guidelines.
- The images and layout will be designed to fit in a 800 x 600 screen resolution.
- All pages have "title" and "alt" tags to inhance search engine positioning and to describe images.
- All pages will download quickly keeping in consideration the lowest modem speed. Each page will follow the standard of a
maximum of 100KB. The 100KB is a total of all images.
- All images and imagemap graphics should be anti-aliased to the background colour.
- When using transparent images, we will blend the image to the background by anti-alias that matches the HTML background colour.
- All images are to be in .gif format.
- All photos are to be in .jpg format.
- All images and photos will be optimized to a percentage that has the same quality closest to a 300dpi image. This is possible when
images are scanned at WGM. If images are provided by the client at a dpi higher then 300, then optimization will be to the best possible quality.
- All file names will be in lower case. This makes it easier to locate your file when editing in HTML.
- We will not use bmp files because the file size is huge, the download is longer and the viewer will lose interest. If we receive a bmp
file from the client, then we will use a conversion before optimizing.
- We will always use the lowest conversion possible but keeping high quality with images, audio and other multimedia.
- The number of links is unlimited.
